We are proud to announce that BUDSSMOKE is officially one year old. Over the last year there has been tremendous joy, growth and non-stop learning. It has been an interesting process trying to navigate through a brand new, heavily regulated industry, which in truth, is still trying to figure itself out. We are thankful for all the buds we have met along the way; the artists, the community members, the old-school smokers and the newbies.
We have accomplished a lot during the past year. Staying motivated and keeping our spirits high during a pandemic has allowed us to open six locations (and counting). The first location is surrounded on Burlington’s beautiful Lakefront (2017 Lakeshore Road), where our team first opened the doors to the public. Since then, the brand has grown into locations such as Pickering, Brampton, St. Catharines, Brantford and Rutherglen; these last two being superstores selling everything you need to grow in your own little cannabis nursery. It is our goal to utilize our influence in this industry to reduce stigma while promoting the artistic and creative sides of cannabis.
BUDSSMOKE & ART
The BUDSSMOKE brand stems from a group of individuals who love art and cannabis. We feel the two are connected and it is our objective to find ways to collaborate with the art world. Thus far, we’ve had murals painted in each of our shops by local graffiti artists. We are consistently creating/updating pieces for the art gallery at our Pickering location. We also have had three very talented graffiti artists (Kane, Poser, and Steam) paint a giant mural on the back of our Burlington shop last August (2021). Not to mention, we have also hosted a Puff & Paint night with a local artist Nikki Schiedel to get our very own creativity flowing and lastly, a main and more rewarding facet of our art division is helping promote local artists by displaying their work in our shop and on our @budssmoketogether IG account.
