How Does Cannabis Impact Creativity?

Cannabis and art are like peanut butter and jelly; they just go together. For those of us in the community, it’s hard to think of one without the other. It’s not uncommon for one to consume cannabis before painting, drawing, doing graffiti, making music, doing photography or just about anything creative.

There’s actually some scientific evidence behind it:

Cannabis acts as a stimulant in the frontal lobe of the brain. The frontal lobe of the brain is associated with speech and language, memory, impulse control, problem solving, social interaction, motor function and creative thinking. Research indicates that an increased blood flow to the frontal lobe has the potential to encourage creative thinking and brainstorming. For some artists, this may be the very “push” they need.
