Artist Spotlight:
Paul Rennie
Cannabis has a unique way of allowing people to “dive deeper” into their creative roots.
At BUDSSMOKE, we are always looking for ways to promote artistry. Whether it is from our Puff and Paint nights, to commissioning artists to paint a giant mural behind our shop, or displaying local art inside our store, we aim to inspire our buds to find their own unique creative expression.
We’ve met so many talented artists throughout the year from opening our stores, that we decided to celebrate them by creating a Local Artist series. The aim will be to introduce our creative neighbours by letting you know a bit about them, how cannabis has impacted their work and the art they create. We will also be displaying their works of art in our shops for you to see!
Meet, Paul Rennie!
Paul has been a local Burlington resident for the past 2 years. His favourite thing about the downtown neighbourhood is living so close to beautiful Lake Ontario (um yes, we gush about it every day, too); his interest in art stems back as far as he can remember.
“All my life. I have always liked to draw, but when I was 50 started working in acrylics.”~Rennie
Like many artists, Paul doesn’t have any traditional training, but has an incredible passion for expressing himself via painting. Along with music, Rennie uses cannabis for inspiration. His favourite form of consumption is smoking and he’s more likely to reach for an indica dominant strain to get his creativity flowing.
For the month of November, we will be displaying a few of Paul’s pieces in the Burlington shop. Come on down and check it out!
