A Stoner’s New Years Resolution

When a New Year arrives, we often find ourselves reflecting, and making plans to better ourselves and our experience on this floating rock we call home. It’s not uncommon to find friends and family making lists of their own goals to lose weight, travel or to save more money, but for those of us who use cannabis, our lists may look a little different ;)!

1. Forget about the tetrahydrocannabinol percentage (THC) %:

This one has to be number one because it is an absolute must. We urge you to reconsider buying products solely based on the THC % alone. While THC is the psychoactive component of cannabis, a higher number does not correlate with a better or more intoxicating high. A study done by the University of Colorado (2020), states that despite the varying levels of THC found in the blood (455- 1,016 micrograms per milliliters of blood), users reported similar effects of feeling high, as well as tested similarly for measures of balance and cognitive impairment.

Along with THC, there are over 100 different cannabinoids that play a role in the high you experience. There’s also a widespread of terpenes in each cannabis strain that can encourage feelings, such as excitement or relaxation. Instead of shopping for the THC % alone, consider quality (how was it grown?), freshness (what is the package date?) and if you’re still unsure, ask your local Budtender. We get it. We smoke this stuff, too.

*Mango haze is a lovely CBD dominant we strain we suggest everyone tries at least once!*

2. Try New Things:

One of the coolest parts of legalization is the increasing access to SO many
options. The days of your buddy handing you a random sandwich baggie of green are no longer a necessity. So why not get experimental and try something new? Although each experience is unique to the individual, cannabis has a neat ability to make you feel in different ways. If you only ever smoke the traditionally sleepy Kush Rose, how will you know the power of smoking an energizing strain such as Green Kraken before a workout?

3. Befriend Cannabidiol (CBD):

CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp and cannabis indica. Legend has it, it was bred out of the cannabis flower in the 1970s as a way to move more THC in a smaller package. In the human body, CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system to create homeostasis in the body. CBD has shown a lot of promise for helping with issues of anxiety, pain, sleep, and other symptoms of common health conditions. Everybody is different, but you may find that CBD is just what you needed all along.

*Everie CBD beverages are a nice refreshing way to wind down*

*Always make sure to speak to a professional. This is not intended as medical advice. Every user’s experience may differ.*
